THE FISHERMAN AREN’T BACK

About This Project

To build a “monument” dedicated to the container means to remember the symbolic object of sea trades and port industry. The container is by definition an aseptic object and detached from the context of the city, how can it be seen in relation to a city full of history (and stories) such as Genoa? The idea is to pay a tribute to the container as an object always on the move, that during his journey brings the memory of distant places and routes. Imagine that a container might save within itself, once come back from a sea trip, images stolen from the harbours where it was docked. Thanks to a lens, a hole and the natural light, the container is transformed into a machine capable of capturing images. A real pinhole camera.
