THE FISHERMAN AREN’T BACK

Building a “monument” dedicated to the container means remembering the symbolic object of sea trade and the port industry. The container, an object by definition aseptic and disconnected from the context of the city, how can it be related to a city as rich in history (and stories) as Genoa? The proposal intends to pay homage to the container as an object always on the move, which during its journey carries the memory of faraway places and routes. We imagine that a container can hide inside it, returned from sea voyages, images stolen from the ports where it was unloaded. Thanks to a lens, a hole and natural light, the container is transformed into a machine capable of capturing images. A veritable pinhole camera.
